ABOUT JESSICA
Jessica Caloza is a dedicated advocate for women's rights, a proud immigrant, and the child of working-class parents.
Jessica is deeply committed to community service and dedicates her time to volunteering with several Asian American and Filipino American organizations. In 2014, she was chosen as one of ten delegates for the Filipino Youth Leadership Program (FYLPro), an esteemed international leadership initiative led by the Ambassador of the Philippines. Additionally, she has held positions on the boards of KAYA: Filipino Americans for Progress, FYLPro Executive Committee, and the Leadership Council of the Center for Asian Americans United for Self Empowerment (CAUSE).
Jessica is a graduate of the University of California, San Diego, and takes great pride in being a first-generation immigrant.

Jessica Caloza's tenure in the U.S. Department of Education during the Obama Administration (2013-2015) showcased her multifaceted engagement in critical areas. Her roles spanned higher education policy, Congressional and legislative affairs, student data and privacy, immigration policy, and gender equity issues. As a Presidential Appointee, Caloza demonstrated unwavering dedication to advancing key education and policy initiatives. Her contributions stand as a testament to her commitment to shaping a brighter future through progressive and impactful governance.
A Climate Leader
Jessica Caloza is fighting for bold action to address the climate crisis and ensure our communities have access to clean air and water.
Jessica is committed to holding polluters accountable. She will tackle climate change by fighting for more investments in clean energy like wind and solar to reduce emissions and create good-paying local jobs.
While working in the Attorney General’s Office, Jessica cracked down on big oil companies and other corporate polluters, and installed air quality monitors in our communities to reduce pollution.
As City Commissioner, Jessica oversaw infrastructure projects, including solar installations, water conservation, and recycling.
